My extended family and I are going on a family vacation to the Outer Banks at the end of May and planning this trip versus the trips Cary and I used to go on alone is so different. Not only do we need to think about how Teagan fits into that situation but also what items do we need just to make it a more enjoyable experience.
Bigger items like the crib, high chair, baby gates, we plan to rent from one of the rental agencies down there but there are several items we will buy before heading down because they are either A. fun or B. needed long-term for other trips. Below is my list of items we will be buying for our family beach trip and links to purchasing them.
This is probably the most important item in my opinion. Sadly, poor Teagan got my translucent skin so we will be putting a very high SPF sunscreen on her but having a fully shaded area for her to play or nap is really important.
This goes hand in hand with the tent. I need to keep my little ginger baby cool.
What is more annoying than putting your drink down at the beach only for it to fall over or have the bottom all covered in sand. The answer is nothing. Nothing is more annoying. These are imperative to sanity.
Bringing glass bottles to the beach is just a really bad idea so these things are amazing. They hold an entire bottle of wine or whatever your drink of choice is.
Our beach house has a private pool so we thought bringing a little floating net would just be a super fun way to get some friendly competition going one day.
We definitely needed some type of float for Teagan for the pool and if she gets to float why shouldn’t I? duh.
These chairs for the pool are so cool. I think it’s perfect for all of us gals that want to be in the pool lounging but don’t want to get our hair wet. And they are cheap for a set of 4 so why not?
Lastly, for those that don’t mind getting their hair wet and want to totally relax but also want to stay cool, this hammock float is a must have.
I am sure as the trip gets closer I will think of some other things I definitely NEED to have. Really, I need nothing but some sunscreen and sunglasses but who doesn’t like to buy things for vacation? Now if I could just my beach body together 🙂 I’ll also do a post trip post about these items and which we actually utilized. Wahoo! Bring on the vacation.
