I cannot believe my little baby girl is already 10 months old. It feels like since I started staying home, time has just flown by. We’ve been really busy but I think I am subconsciously trying to forget that my baby is so close to being a toddler and as excited as it makes me watching her grow, I feel sad knowing we are no longer in the days of all day snuggles. They say the first year of baby’s life goes so quickly and whoever “they” are, they are totally right.
Sleep: Teagan is still sleeping through the night, usually around 10 hours. Since she is napping more consistently then she did at daycare her nighttime sleep has lowered from the 12 hours she was at. Her naps are really all over the place. The morning nap is usually the longer one ranging from 1-2 hours. Her second nap is typically 45 minutes to an hour. I now understand what the nap time “power hour” is and how much I rely on that time to quickly get things done around the house.
Breastfeeding: Teagan is still breastfeeding. We nurse several times a day. Since quitting my job I’ve been working to lower my supply because I had such an oversupply that if I didn’t pump several times a day it was so painful. Through February and March I would pump in the morning and before bed but since Teagan has become much more mobile over the last month we dropped the morning pump and just nurse her and unless we are out and about she rarely ever gets a bottle anymore. I used to hate breastfeeding but as we’ve increased our sessions and dropped the bottles I find a lot of comfort and connection in it. As we approach her first birthday, I feel like I get more and more attached to the bond we’ve created through nursing.
Solid Food: Teagan now has 6 teeth so eating has become way easier for her. She pretty much eats anything we eat at this point. For favorite thing is stealing all my snacks! There are still things I break up teeny tiny for her because I’m paranoid of her choking but overall she’s a champ. She’s obsessed with bananas and waffles. Still not a big meat eater. I think her aunt is secretly trying to talk her into being a vegetarian.
Personality: Teagan has definitely become a mama’s girl over the last 3 months with me staying home but of course she only says “dada”. She is a very calm and chill little girl but is so curious about everything and loves exploring. She smiles and giggles none stop until we are taking a picture of her then she is stone cold and basically looks like she lives a miserable life with us. She is also starting to hit a bratty stage where she loses her mind if we take something away from her that she NEEDS so badly but really shouldn’t have. Aka cellphones.
She was only commando crawling but now she full on crawls all the time.
She is pulling herself up on things and walking around when assisted by a toy or furniture. Last month she was showing no signs of this at all and I would’ve said walking was far in her future and now I’m not so sure.
Weight: 21 lbs.
Height: It’s really hard to measure her these days but at her 9 month appointment she was 28.5 in
Teeth: 6 and it looks like another will pop through soon
Clothing: She still fits into some 12 month but I typically put her in 18 month because I feel like it’s way more comfortable
Hair: Still a red head
I had been in denial about her birthday that I just hadn’t even started thinking about it besides what day it would be. I guess I need to get on it. I think we have decided to just host the party at our home versus at an indoor playground type place. In my opinion it’s just easier but it also gives us some motivation to finish a lot of those home projects we’ve put off for the year and a half we’ve lived here. I’ll post some sneak peeks in the next month of her theme and fun odds and ends I find for it.
