The Magic of My Name Storybook Review

A few weeks ago we were kindly offered the opportunity to receive and review a wonderful new story book. While Teagan is still young and has a short attention span, it’s clear she already has an interest in books and listening to stories. Looking forward I know that story time will be a big part of our bedtime routine. With that being said, I jumped at the chance to review The Magic of My Name story.

This book is about the amazing magic of your child’s name which means it’s completely personalized. I love anything that is personalized, especially books. I feel like it makes it so much more special than other books and provides a lifelong keepsake. These books are 100% personalized to the name whether it is 10 or 3 letters. Additionally, you get to personalize the character being either a boy or girl and then they took the additional step to be able to pick a little girl or boy that most closely aligns to your child as far as skin and hair color. The only downside is there is no redhead which was really sad for us but we are used to that and definitely not something that would ever deter us.

A fairy starts the story by visiting the child and helps the child discover the magic that is behind their name. They go on a wonderful adventure in order to figure this out. I won’t go into too much detail because I don’t want to ruin it but also because it is a personalized story to your child’s name so each storybook will be a little different.

I felt as though the story flowed very well and the illustrations were just wonderful. The story keeps you engaged and interested throughout. I was quite surprised by the overall quality of the book. The pages are thick and glossy which definitely makes it more durable when you have a little one that always wants to play with it.

I was given a hardcover storybook and it is very sturdy. There is a cheaper option cover which I can’t personally speak to the quality of but given how durable the pages are, I can imagine the softcover option would stand up just as well.

The story is a bit on the longer side, about 10-15 minutes, which is long past Teagan’s attention span at 11 months old so for now it’s a 3 night bedtime story. As she grows and she is more engaged, this will be the perfect amount of time.

Again, this book is completely personalized to your child’s name and the chosen avatar. It is very easy to make on their website and you can see everything in preview mode before finalizing it. Mine was obviously printed in English but it also comes in several other languages which I think is such an amazing option if you have a bilingual household.

This storybook is a perfect gift for a baby shower, birthday, or Christmas gift to add a little something special to the occasion. Each book starts $29.99 with a softcover and $4.99 extra for the hardcover, which I personally recommend. Kids are rough on books. Standard shipping is $5.99 and since this is a personalized item it will take roughly 10-15 days to make its way to you.

Since I have teamed with The Story Tailors to sponsor this post, they have been so kind as to provide my readers with a $5 off coupon code. Use promo code: TEAGAN when checking out. Be sure to get on and order your book quickly as this coupon is only valid now through June 7th. You can start your order here.

If you are on the hunt for that perfect gift or just a lifelong keepsake that is completely personalized, I cannot recommend this storybook enough. The Magic of My Name will be a go-to bedtime story for us for years to come.

**The Magic of My Name was given to us in exchange for my review but, as always, all thoughts and opinions are honest and my own.

  • It's been over a week since I was diagnosed with Graves Disease and having to start what feels like an extreme diet list of "no's" and I started out feeling so defeated. The first few days I felt awful. Headaches to the point of nausea and vomiting as my body was detoxing all the things I now couldn't have. Today I'm feeling like I'm getting so much energy, I don't feel as foggy or heavy with that blah feeling. I have been really strict and not "cheated" because cheating now feels like I'm failing myself and my health. Ironically enough, I'm eating MORE at every meal and drinking more water. I've been using my essential oils as the doctors ordered on my thyroid area as well as for other wellness purposes, cooking, cleaning and in my beauty regimen. I feel like the direction of this page and my blog is now shifting. It will always serve as a place to share my motherhood journey but part of that journey is now much more about health and wellness and less about testing and reviewing free stuff. I'm still genuinely angry and upset about the diagnosis but sometimes the bad stuff we go through serves to be beautiful life lessons and good in the end. Here's to one week down and forever to go to restoring my health and life from the inside out! I hope everyone has a great weekend☀️
  • Happy Birthday my sweet KDK! Things sure have changed over the years but one thing that hasn't is what an amazing person and friend you are. Thank you for always listening to me rant, being there unconditionally, and bringing the sunshine and happiness to every early morning! I hope today is as special as you are 😘😘
  • I received some pretty devastating news regarding my health this past week. While it's left me feeling so sad, it's also been a wonderful reminder that we are only given one body to live this amazing life and we need to treat it that way. I decided to open up #ontheblog about the whole ordeal because it's too long of a story for an Instagram post. As @s.chilva would say "one life, one chance." 💕
  • My heart is so heavy with the news from Las Vegas today. I feel sad that my sweet daughter is growing up in a world so full of hate. We are not born to hate. Hate is a learned behavior. Remember that our children are watching every single thing we do and listening to every word we say and from us is where they will either learn to love and respect everyone equally or not. I hope that Teagan always treats everyone how she wants to be treated. 💕 #prayforvegas .
