Loving Lately: Cleaning Products

Over the last 2-3 weeks I’ve started to find my cleaning routine. I’ve been staying home for 6 months now and honestly, I have found it so difficult to find a cleaning routine. Prior to staying home, things weren’t that messy because no one was home all day using dishes, towels, spilling sippy cups, etc. So really I was just maintaining my home versus needing a cleaning routine.

I’ve been L-O-V-I-N-G watching Tiffani’s cleaning motivation videos on her YouTube channel, Beauty and the Beastons and it’s given me so much more motivation to get things done daily. I’ve noticed I really enjoy cleaning more at night after Teagan goes down for the night versus while she is napping. I know that sounds crazy because it just pushes out my night but if I’m watching her all day, cleaning during naps, by the end of the day I’m just worn out and there is always something left to do. I’d rather just chill out a little bit while she naps and then tackle bigger cleaning at night.

Below are 5 cleaning products I’ve been loving lately.

  1. Mrs. Meyers Multi-Surface Spray in Lavender

I pretty much use this stuff on everything. I use it on my kitchen and bathroom counters (except when deep cleaning), on our stainless steel appliances, highchair, floors, etc. It’s my go-to daily cleaner. I went through the regular bottle so quickly that I ended up just buying the concentrate bottle the next time. It will just last so much longer and the lavender scent is so refreshing and pretty strong that it takes the place of using a candle now. I typically love lemon scents but not in this brand, it was way too strong and gives me a stomach ache anytime I use it.

  1. Microfiber Cleaning Cloths

I bought these cloths when we were refinishing our kitchen cabinets and they were so cheap and came in a huge pack so we had lots left over. They are by far the best cleaning cloth. I love these because they hold in any dust, dirt, or crumbs versus just pushing them around. So I will typically dust stuff down with one and then use another one with my Mrs. Meyers spray. Once you are done you can just throw them in the wash. So easy!

  1. Arm & Hammer Pet Fresh Carpet Odor Eliminator Plus Oxi Clean Dirt Fighters

Since Teagan started crawling I’ve been obsessive about keeping our floors cleaned. She picks up anything and puts it in her mouth, she plays and rolls around on the carpet. If there is one thing I want clean at all times, it’s our floors. Since we have a dog, I feel like they just naturally get more dirty so I vacuum every single day and mop twice a week. I just started using this product and I love it. I can tell our carpets are cleaner and it just makes the room smell great! Depending on how big your room is and how often you are using it, a box can go pretty fast but they are very cheap so I think it’s 100% worth the weekly investment…especially if you have young kids or a dog.

  1. Clorox Toilet Wand

Honestly, I don’t know how I survived before this thing. Cleaning the toilet with the normal toilet bowl cleaners is so gross. These are really nice because they just click on and release with one button, you don’t even have to touch anything. And they do a really good job if you keep up with it.

  1. Swiffer Dusters 360 Extendable Handle Kit

I.HATE.DUSTING. With a passion. It’s the worst. If I were to pay for one thing for a cleaning service to do it would by far be dusting. It goes everywhere, I can’t reach the ceiling fan and dusting blinds is for the birds. It’s just a time suck but with this Swiffer, it’s tolerable. I’m not going to lie and say it’s so much easier now and I love it but it makes the suck a little less sucky and that’s all I can hope for. It does extend and bend so the ceiling fan doesn’t look like its been sitting in a 3507257 year old house and never touched. Just get it. It’s worth the few bucks.

So there ya go, my top 5 cleaning products that I’m absolutely loving lately. I’m a big dork and love hearing about new cleaning products and testing out new ones that other people love so if there is anything I should be using let me know in the comments! 🙂

I love Mrs. Meyers products, and the lavender scent is diviiiiine. I have the room freshener spray in lavender, and I love spraying it in our room right before bed.
Another product I recently discovered is e-cloth cleaning cloths. They’re just like Norwex envirocloths but MUCH cheaper. I love my Norwex cloth, so I was excited to find a cheaper alternative.

Aren’t they just the best?! How did I not know they had a room freshener spray? That’s a game changer!! Thanks for the info! Will definitely be picking up both of these items on my next shopping trip!! 🙂

  • This little oil right here has changed my world. When I found out I had Graves Disease I felt so much grief and stress. The whole “why me?” set in. I keep smiling and try to stay positive but the truth is emotionally it’s been a rollercoaster to process each and everyday. When you go through times of stress and grief your adrenal glands can shut down which only further screws up my endocrine system. Joy can help open back up those adrenal glands and help provide that emotional support. The truth is that I notice a difference when I don’t use it and to me that’s enough to know I need it in my life. Every single day. But really, who doesn’t need a little bit of joy?! 💕
