10 Things You May Not Know About Me

Over the last several months I had gotten a lot of new followers both on Instagram and to my blog so I figured it would be fun to do this post and share 10 things people might not know about me. Friends and family I know in “real life” may or may not know some of these so either way it’s fun to share!

  1. I used to have a blog with my best friend that we started in January of 2015.

It was called 2Blonde20Somethings. This was started back before engagements, marriage and definitely before babies. So what did we blog about? I don’t even know…just life in general, recipes, crafts, trying to get healthy, and our obsession with our dogs. It was really fun but life happened and it just died. Honestly it was just for fun and we had no expectations. We always joked we would eventually have to change it to 2Brunette30Somethings anyways!

  1. I Don’t Eat Pork

I stopped eating pork about 8 or 9 years ago. The original reason was because I wanted a pet pig and it just didn’t seem right to continue eating bacon. Over the years I’ve done a lot of research and pork is not only filled with large amounts of bacteria but the cruelty that pigs endure is the worst of any meat you will eat. Really, do your own research it’s disgusting and you should stop eating it immediately. J

  1. I Am Allergic to Chocolate

Sticking with the food category…yes, I’m allergic to chocolate. I can eat things like Oreos and ice cream sandwiches because it’s very processed down but most chocolate will make me break out in hives just by putting it on my skin.

  1. I was the President of my Sorority in College

Sometimes this makes me laugh because I never saw myself as a sorority girl and I would never ever think of myself as that stereotype but honestly my entire sorority was very down to earth. We invited people to join based on personality not looks and we formed real friendships. Our national philanthropy was the Make-A-Wish Foundation and we were able to grant several wishes which was so heartwarming. While I never imagined myself being a sorority girl, it was truly some of the greatest years of my life and taught me so much. Go Chi Omega!

  1. I Figure Skated Competitively

When I was younger I competitively figure skated. It was probably the most intense sport I’ve ever done. On top of ice time we would have to take ballet, weight training, and aerobics. It was nuts…especially as a young girl. We would wake up at 3am to get to the rink by 4am then skate until it was time to go to school. Then after school we would practice again until dinner, then homework and bed. My sister and I had no personal life and I ended up quitting because my coach wouldn’t let me skip practice to go to a birthday party. She ended up having skaters go to the Olympics so I think I need to reevaluate my life choices!

  1. I’m a Huge Denver Broncos Fan

I know this seems super random but it dates back to my ice skating days. Our entire skating team spent a summer training in Vail, Colorado and I just fell in love with the team and been a fan ever since.

  1. Wasn’t Sure I Wanted Kids

This all seems so ironic now as I am writing a blog focused on motherhood but really I wasn’t sure. Cary and I did a lot of traveling prior to finding out about Teagan and I think we were okay with the idea that we would spend our lives married and traveling. We were okay either way and I truly trust the timing of my life and I know things happened exactly as they should have.

  1. I am Paranoid

I have a very specific paranoia. I have this irrational fear of being stalked, raped, kidnapped, killed, etc. Literally all of the things you watch on scary movies and dateline shows is where my paranoia lives. If I walk the dog at night, I am looking around the entire time. I get uncomfortable if I have to be home alone with a cable guy, plumber, electrician, etc. It will be a cold day in hell before you catch me sleeping in my house alone. We have a home security system yet I still have a way of getting in my own head. It’s completely irrational but I think it all stems from a really bad experience I had in college and I don’t know if I will ever be the same. It’s either that or it’s because my older sister let me watch the Scream movies with her when I was way too young.

  1. I am a Child of Divorce

My parents separated when I was pretty young and officially divorced when I was 8. I am a firm believer that you have to do what makes you happy and you should never have to stay in something that is holding you back but I don’t want Teagan to ever have to go through that so keeping our family intact is always #1 to me. A lot of good came out of having divorced parents though, the main one being that I got the best stepdad in the world who has been the main male role model in my life, the person I refer to when I say “my dad.”

  1. Summer is my Least Favorite Season

Gasp! I know. I don’t know why, I want to love summer. It just seems like the thing to do but I just don’t. It’s always so hot and humid here in the D.C. area and it’s exhausting. If you want to enjoy the outdoors you have to get out of the house super early or go out later and be eaten to death by mosquitos. I’m not a big pool or beach person; I never have been. My mom has had some skin cancer issues so I avoid the sun because of that and I also want beautiful, wrinkle free skin as I age…even if that means being Casper now. Bring on fall!

Well, there you have it…10 things you may not know about me. Thanks for following along on my journey whether it be here or on Instagram! It’s been a blast connecting with other moms and bloggers!

  • Peace ✌🏼 out, Virginia! That’s a wrap on this beautiful chapter of our lives. We are so grateful for this home and the amazing memories we have been able to make. We brought both of these sweet babies home to this house so it is bittersweet. .
I’ve spent my entire life in Virginia but so excited for this new adventure and to be back in Cary’s home state! I can’t put into words how much we will miss our sweet friends that have become family and of course, my parents! But we can’t wait to host you all in our new home!! .

  • Packing up a weeks worth of supplements so I can pack all the bottles up for the big move next week. I know people (including my family) probably think I’m a complete whack for how many supplements I take daily but there is a method to the madness. My hope is that filling these little containers and taking good quality supplements daily to support all areas of my body will mean that later in life I’m not having to fill them with medications to stay alive and healthy. We are only given one body and I’m trying my best to keep it as healthy as I can so I’m here for my family longer! I’m curious to know, what supplements do you take daily to support your body?? 🥰

  • Today was Teagan’s last day of preschool in her 2 year old classroom. I’m not sure how the year flew by so fast but I’m even more shocked at how much she has grown and matured since the start of the school year. I wish so badly that I could freeze this age and bottled it up forever. She is such a kind, smart and beautiful girl and I pray she never changes or loses her joyful spirit 🥰 Swipe to see our first day of school picture 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ #teagankendall
  • This view will never get old. Seeing them play and laugh together has been the greatest joy of my life. I know it’ll only get better with time. Life might be chaotic with two young kids but I know without a doubt the greatest gift we could have ever given Teagan is this built in best friend 🥰 we hope everyone has a great weekend ❤️

  • Home of the free because of the brave 🇺🇸 We will never forget that freedom is never free and we enjoy these days with family because of those that paid the ultimate sacrifice protecting our freedoms. Our hearts are with those families today! ❤️ #memorialday2019 #godblessamerica #freedomisntfree #homeofthefreebecauseofthebrave #teagankendall #toddlermom #terrifictwos #almost3
  • Not the prettiest picture but this is our current reality. It hit us this morning that we only have 2 weekends left here in Virginia. We officially sell this house in a few days. It feels like a dream. I never imagined time moving so quickly. Things have been so busy and chaotic we haven’t really had a chance to even process the emotions that go along with closing a beautiful chapter of life. It’s bittersweet. I feel sad to leave our family and friends. I feel sad thinking Teagan won’t get sleepovers at my parents house. I feel sad we won’t be able to just pop over to a friends for a play date last minute. But I feel so excited to watch Teagan and Beau frolic around in their big backyard and have quality time with their aunt. I feel excited to explore a new city. I feel excited to make new friends and host our old ones in our new home. What a rollercoaster of emotions moving can be. 🌀

  • 8 M O N T H S🌈 I’m not sure how that happened. Still a big massive baby, still the happiest, sweet boy! Crawling around all over the place. Into everything. This month he really became obsessed with Teagan and everything she does. Has 4 teeth up top and 2 on the bottom. I wish I could say he was sleeping through the night but he still wakes up at least once. But I’m releasing myself from stressing over it, babies don’t keep so I’m just going to enjoy the nightly snuggle sessions while they are here. We sure do love you, baby Beau 💙
