How to Whiten Your Teeth

The past two years have been such a whirlwind between a rough pregnancy, buying a home, having a baby, quitting my job and being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease; finding time for a self-care routine has been at the bottom of the list of priorities.

I’ve never been shy about talking about how rough of a pregnancy I had but one thing I haven’t talked about was the toll it took on my teeth. I feel like I’ve always had pretty white teeth but after 9 months of throwing up at least once daily, my teeth not only got so weak but they lost the whiteness I was used to. Then came life with a newborn and we all know how that goes.

I have used Crest Whitestrips in the past and the sensitivity it caused was too much for me to handle. I could never finish the entire box so I knew that wasn’t an option for me. I started using a whitening toothpaste that made little change to the color.

Honestly, when I would see pictures of myself from earlier this year, I totally cringed at how yellow they looked. I refused to use white strips again and going to the dentist for whitening was both too costly and not realistic with my infant.

When I got the opportunity to work with a company called Smile Brilliant I jumped at the chance. They offer professional quality whitening with custom trays from the comfort of your own home.

The process was so simple. They send you a kit with instructions to make your tray molds and whitening system, you mail the molds back and a few days later you receive your custom trays.

You are sent both a whitening gel as well as a desensitizing gel which is what intrigued me so much. An at home whitening system that takes away so much of the tooth sensitivity? Yes, please! You receive 3-4 syringes of each gel which will last 2-3 weeks depending on how much you put on each treatment.

The whitening gel goes first and you wear that anywhere from 45 minutes to 3 hours, depending on the degree of whitening needed. Then you brush your teeth and repeat the process with the desensitizing gel for 15-20 minutes.

It’s that easy. I would do it every night after we had dinner and just hanging out. I never noticed when I had them in because they are truly a perfect mold of your teeth. A similar tray to the clear braces on the market today.

I’m very happy with my results and I’m completely convinced that these custom trays from Smile Brilliant are the only way to go. I will never again deal with the hassle and sensitivity that white strips cause.

Whether pregnancy took away that pearly white smile you had or you have an event coming up or you just want that everyday white smile, Smile Brilliant whitening system is the way to go. Simple, affordable and effective.

The best part, Smile Brilliant is sponsoring a giveaway for one person to try the whole whitening system for free!
