Homemade Makeup Remover

This homemade makeup removing pads are so easy and will take you less than 5 minutes to make. Once you gather all the supplies, these will prove to be significantly cheaper than makeup wipes you will buy in the store.

Not only that but they are toxic free, no chemicals, and synthetic fragrances. If you don’t wear makeup, these are still for you. They leave your face feeling smooth and refreshed.

Ingredients:

  • 4oz glass jar
  • Cotton rounds
  • 2 Tbsp Distilled Water
  • 1 Tbsp Witch Hazel (I use the Thayers brand)
  • 2 Tbsp Fractionated Coconut Oil
  • 4 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
  • Optional: Frankincense or Tea Tree Essential Oil
  • Optional: 1/4 tsp Pure Castille Soap (I use Dr. Bronner’s- Make sure you get the baby unscented)

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together 4 oz. glass jar. Place cotton rounds inside and close the lid. Flip upside down to make sure all rounds are saturated fully.

When using, take a single round out and be use to blot out any of the extra liquid before applying to face.

I use all Young Living Essential Oils. To learn more about these, check out my Essential Oils page HERE.

  • As most of you know, we’ve been ditching and switching most of the toxic products in our home over the past year and replacing them with better plant based products. The process felt overwhelming to start with but each month we tossed one thing and it made it feel so much more attainable. .
When people ask me where to start, I almost always say ditch the toxic laundry detergent and dryer sheets. This affects the entire family. Switching that means no more wearing clothes and rolling in sheets that are filled with chemicals 24/7. These chemicals are transferred onto your skin and your children’s skin and absorbed into your body throughout the entire day 😖
.
Scan your products with the @thinkdirty app and see how they rate. Most of them will have chemicals that have been linked to irritation of the skin and eyes, organ toxicity, developmental/reproductive toxicity, endocrine disruption, cancer and so much more. That’s scary enough for me to just avoid all together. #knowbetterdobetter #gimmealltheplants
  • People make fun of Valentine’s Day but I love it. We don’t exchange gifts but I love the reminder to love and acknowledge the one you are with. Happy Valentine’s Day my love! Celebrating it with a throwback to the days when phone pictures were terrible quality, we were much younger, thinner, tanner, less wrinkles and spent our money traveling the world. I love you so much and this beautiful life we’ve built together 🖤
  • Some days I honestly feel like I’m drowning in all the things. I need to say this to myself everyday. And repeat it all day long. 🖤
  • Because we are still in denial over the @saints not being in the Super Bowl today! We will get em next year 🏈🖤
  • I love the month of love 💗Diffusing all my favorite reds, pinks and purples all month long! This month my mantra is “Hustle and Heart will set you apart” because I feel some big things in the works 💜
  • I love you so much. 💕
