Some of our Favorite Baby Names

I will start by saying that these have changed so much over time and I’m sure they will continue to change until we find that name that just fits perfectly for our little babe. I am also going to say that a lot of these names are common and it’s impossible to find an original name these days. I’m not the type that cares if someone picks the same name I like. I feel like people only get mad if they said the name first, but we have to remember that just because someone says it first doesn’t mean we have to love it any less. These names are in no particular order, just random. I’m only going to give 5 of each.

Girls

Mackenize- I honeslty don’t know why I love this name. I just think it’s really pretty and I love the nickname Kenzie, while Cary likes the nickname Mack. Soooo that’s a struggle.

Peyton- I love unisex names. I just think they are cool and unique and I love the way Peyton Gaskell sounds!

Rowan- I know many will say this is more of a boy name, but I love it as a girl name. I just imagine my little Ro Ro running around!! Plus I love a good Irish name. After all, that’s why we picked Teagan!

Charlotte- This is super popular which is what makes me not like it  as much as some of the others but I just think it’s so beautiful, classic and feminine. Cary loves the nickname, “Charlie”.

Everly- This is another one I don’t know why I love but I remember hearing it a few years ago and just loving it. Another beautiful, feminine name.

Boys

Beau/Bowen- Cary and I both love this name. I just think it’s a great, strong, manly name. Not much else to why, no special story. We just love it.

Hunter- This is somewhat of a family name on my side. My parents tried for a few years to have another child but my mom started going through menopause in her mid to late thirties so she had several miscarriages. If they ever had a boy, they said his name would have been Hunter and I think that’s something really special to honor.

Declan- This is more of my pick. I love it again because it’s an Irish name. It means “man of prayer” or “full of goodness” and I think that is what I would want a son to be.

Owen- This is a Cary pick but I actually love it. I think it’s such a sweet little boy name but also a great man name too!

Colt/Tripp- These are both Cary picks that can’t decide which he likes better. He loves the name Colt from the Three Ninjas movie haha! I think it’s cute and southern sounding name. Cary is a Texan by way of Louisiana so it just seems right to have a southern name. And he has no idea why he likes Tripp besides the fact that it sounds “cool”.

I can think of another reason that you love the name Kenzie 😉 lol Declan is my pick for a boy too, but Matt isn’t sold, so I hope that’s what y’all end up picking! I love it for the same reasons that you do! I’m so excited for this little nugget no matter what *his* name will be. 💗💗💗

  • As most of you know, we’ve been ditching and switching most of the toxic products in our home over the past year and replacing them with better plant based products. The process felt overwhelming to start with but each month we tossed one thing and it made it feel so much more attainable. .
When people ask me where to start, I almost always say ditch the toxic laundry detergent and dryer sheets. This affects the entire family. Switching that means no more wearing clothes and rolling in sheets that are filled with chemicals 24/7. These chemicals are transferred onto your skin and your children’s skin and absorbed into your body throughout the entire day 😖
.
Scan your products with the @thinkdirty app and see how they rate. Most of them will have chemicals that have been linked to irritation of the skin and eyes, organ toxicity, developmental/reproductive toxicity, endocrine disruption, cancer and so much more. That’s scary enough for me to just avoid all together. #knowbetterdobetter #gimmealltheplants
  • People make fun of Valentine’s Day but I love it. We don’t exchange gifts but I love the reminder to love and acknowledge the one you are with. Happy Valentine’s Day my love! Celebrating it with a throwback to the days when phone pictures were terrible quality, we were much younger, thinner, tanner, less wrinkles and spent our money traveling the world. I love you so much and this beautiful life we’ve built together 🖤
  • Some days I honestly feel like I’m drowning in all the things. I need to say this to myself everyday. And repeat it all day long. 🖤
  • Because we are still in denial over the @saints not being in the Super Bowl today! We will get em next year 🏈🖤
  • I love the month of love 💗Diffusing all my favorite reds, pinks and purples all month long! This month my mantra is “Hustle and Heart will set you apart” because I feel some big things in the works 💜
  • I love you so much. 💕
