Over the course of the last year, as a family we have been on a mission to rid our lives and home of toxic chemicals and overall try to live a more natural lifestyle. It is terrifying to read the chemicals that lurk in our everyday products. Just the other day I was watching someone I follow on Instagram try to clean permanent marker off of her dryer top. She was trying everything she had in her house, nothing was working. Want to know what ended up being the winning chemical? BUG SPRAY!!! She was horrified, as was I. That is stuff we put directly on our skin. Stuff that we spray and likely in some small way breathe and ingest into our bodies. No, thank you.
This inspired me to share my DIY All Natural Bug Spray on my small piece of the internet here. This is made with 100% Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils from Young Living. This is the only brand I stand behind and you can read more about that here.
What You Need:
- 2oz Spray Bottle
- 1TBS Witch Hazel
- 15 drops Citronella Essential Oil
- 10 drops Lemongrass Essential Oil
- 5 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil
- 5 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
- Add all essential oils into the spray bottle first.
- Then add witch hazel
- Fill with water
- Shake before each spray.
This is a super simple and effective bug spray without all the yucky chemicals and it’s something I can feel good using on my family including our toddler.
