How is this little monkey going to be 2 tomorrow? I’m not ready and neither is my heart 😩

I woke up a little sad this morning realizing Beau is going to be 2 on Wednesday. My sweet little dude is growing up so fast. I honestly cannot believe how quickly the last two years have gone. Who has been here since I was pregnant with him? Doesn’t that seem like a second ago. 😭

Teagan is sooooo happy to be back at school with her teachers and friends today! Beau’s like uhhh what’s going on but his teacher just sent me a picture and said he’s so happy! No matter what choice you made for school this year, you are doing an amazing job! Wishing everyone an amazing school year with happy, healthy kiddos ❤️❤️❤️

I’ve been sharing our swim journey with ISR on s

I’ve been sharing our swim journey with ISR on stories since July and we are coming to the end. I’ll be honest, I was so nervous about doing it with the kids. I’ve seen the videos. They are frightening but I knew it was something that was going to be one of the most important investments we made for our kids. My anxiety around water with them has always been sky high because the reality is over 4,000 drowning deaths occur per year. Drowning is the #1 leading cause of death in ages 1-4. The anxiety was so high to the point that I avoided fun experiences for them when it involved water unless there were 2 adults per child because accidents happen. I never enjoyed myself in the things we did do because again anxiety that has anxiety.

The first week of ISR was tough to watch but it was incredible to see how quickly they caught on. I was especially impressed to watch how quickly Beau got the hang of it. Watching a small child’s will to survive is completely mind blowing. To my surprise, holding your breath underwater isn’t an intuitive thing. They have to learn that and the process to get there can be tough but I promise you it’s much harder on me as a mom then it ever was on either kid.

ISR isn’t a replacement for proper water safety and having a watchful eye but I will tell you that my anxiety is so much lower now knowing they have done this. And in only 6 weeks 🤯 It’s our insurance policy that if an accident ever were to happen, these kids have learned the tools to save themselves until help arrives. Teagan can even swim, float, swim float until she gets to stairs or climbs out of the side unassisted.

If you’ve been on the fence about ISR style of swim lessons, DO IT. It’s worth every penny. It’s worth every hard moment of watching as a parent. These kids have gained life saving swim lessons and so much confidence in the water! If you are in the Austin area, I highly recommend @isr_austin she’s the best ever! If you aren’t, go to infantswim.com to find an instructor near you!

Best trip everrrrrr! Disney right now is different

Best trip everrrrrr! Disney right now is different but amazing! We got to experience every single ride at all the parks including Rise of the Resistance (didn’t go to Epcot). Based on our trip in February it probably would’ve taken us several trips to Disney to hit every ride we wanted.

Today we did every ride at Animal Kingdom. Some we even rode twice including Flight of Passage. The wait times were always less than the app told us besides Runaway Railroad yesterday. Don’t do Hollywood Studios on a Saturday 😉

We had no idea what to expect but it was incredible. The masks all day, everyday in the heat is tough but it’s not unbearable. Every kid besides tiny ones kept their masks on no problem. You can take plenty of drink and food breaks. They have relaxation stations where you can free your face. Seriously, don’t let the masks keep you from going. Disney did it all right. Y’all know I’m not stressing but here is the low down on everything. Masks are 110% mandatory. They temp check upon entering the parks. Sanitizer everywhere. They clean rides every 2 hours. They clean tables between people eating. So if you are worried, they got you😉

This is a weird time and a lot from the experience is different but you make up for it in short wait times and no crowds. I know I keep saying it but contact my gal @itsajollyholidaywithjody if you thinking of going. Again, this isn’t sponsored but she got us here with a week notice and gave us sooo many amazing tips. @waltdisneyworld doesn’t cut a single corner. Every time I come, I’m absolutely amazed at the tiniest details they put in. I’m so glad we decided to come! We got to go on both Star Wars rides and I’m still picking my jaw up off the floor after #riseoftheresistance 🤯the technology. The innovation. The entire experience was incredible. Thanks @itsajollyholidaywithjody for hooking us up with all the tips to get a top boarding group 😉😉
